High School Assistant Principal

 

2026-2027 School Year

Responsible for providing assistance to the Principal in the administration of the total school program.

 

Experience with Learning Standards, PLCs, School Improvement, Supervision of Teaching, Curriculum and RTI strongly preferred. Provides educational leadership throughout the Sweet Home School District.

 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned

• Maintains a cooperative relationship with fellow staff members, students, and the general public.
• Adheres to and enforces district, state, and federal laws, policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Provides leadership with the principal in the areas of school improvement.
• Interacts with students in a constructive manner to encourage each individual to perform at their highest level.
• Implements board policies and administrative regulations.
• Assists with staff supervision, evaluation and the delivery of high quality staff development to improve teaching skills and student learning.
• With the building principal leads the promotion and support of high functioning PLCs designed to improve student achievement.
• Assists with the general supervision of students including at extra-curricular activities to promote and maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning.
• Counsels students and parents with respect to attendance, behavior, attitudes, and personal problems to encourage self-improvement.
• Promotes communications among staff members and between staff and administration.
• Assists principal in preparation of staff meeting agendas and chairs meetings as assigned by principal.
• Leads the hiring and building Human Resources responsibilities of coaches, teachers and other high school staff.
• Assists in development of student-parent handbooks.
• Assists with school discipline including suspensions and expulsions.
• Assists the principal in preparation of the building budget as it relates to athletic activities.
• Assists in the promotion of publicity to keep parents and the public informed.
