Job Grade 108

6.5 hours per day

 

 

SUMMARY 

 

Under general supervision, assist in a variety of instructional activities for children who require an alternative learning environment which may include a behavioral classroom setting; assist in creating and performing a variety of routine clerical and supportive activities for instructional personnel; and carry out other related tasks as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to verbally communicate clearly and concisely.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to accurately draw inferences or conclusions from a variety of situations.

 

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Ability to work with intensive behavior challenges.  Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
