JOB GRADE 118, 40 hr/wk, 12 month
SUMMARY: Maintains the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times and assist the Maintenance Supervisor in carrying out the duties and responsibilities assigned that position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES . Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship with fellow staff members, students, and the general public.
- Adheres to and enforces district, state, and federal laws, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assists in the supervision of projects and staff assigned to the maintenance department.
- Assists in planning, prioritizing, scheduling and assignment of projects.
- Assists in evaluating the performance of maintenance staff.
- Assists in construction projects and remodeling.
- Performs upkeep and repair of plumbing, fencing, concrete, ceilings, roofing, grounds, and specialized maintenance projects, as needed.
- Installs new and used equipment as needed.
- Operates equipment as needed.
- Deals with emergency repair problems with efficiency and is on-call during emergency situations.
- Accurately orders and accounts for material and labor relative to assignments.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises maintenance staff and/or summer helpers as may be assigned to assist in work load. Supervisory responsibilities would include training, planning, and directing work. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the district’s policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- At least four years experience of specialized maintenance work and a demonstrated competence in the job assignments.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
- Demonstrated knowledge of various electronic systems, HVAC systems, piping systems, boiler systems, hydraulic systems and specialized maintenance.
- Such alternatives qualifications as the board deems appropriate.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- 16 hour Class III Asbestos operations and Maintenance course
- Valid Drivers License
- Certification as may be required by State.
